IS OUR CHURCH DYING OR COMING ALIVE?
The Church will always experience difficulty either from external pressures from people who cannot understand its message or from the weaknesses its own members, yet, it is the biggest sign of care and hope for our world. It is important that we know this in our hearts and become part of its mission and compassion. These evenings of reflection are about finding hope and direction in the church today.
1. WEDNESDAY, 27TH March 2019.
LIFE AND HOPE FOR THE CHURCH FROM THE BIG PICTURE AND TRENDS AROUND THE WORLD.
This evening will look at many signs of hope and healthy challenge for our church as we look ahead.
2. Wednesday, 3rd April 2019.
VATICAN II IS FIRE, INSPIRATION AND CHRISTIAN ENERGY IN MANY PRACTICAL WAYS.
Much is already done in the church from the Vatican II Council and much remains to be done. We will look at healthy changes already developing , especially in the four major documents and where they are leading us. I hope this will make you proud to be a Catholic in spite of our sins.
3. Wednesday, 10th April 2019,
“WHERE HOPE AND HISTORY RHYME”. (S. Heaney)
This lecture will gather signs of hope and also directions emerging for our parishes and church in general.
