Every year on Easter Monday since 1976, the Dublin Diocese Children’s Pilgrimage has travelled to Lourdes with very special and deserving children from all over the Diocese. These children are from all walks of life and truly deserve a break from their day to day routines. Some children have physical or learning disabilities, some come from poor social circumstances and some have experienced loss of bereavement in their lives. Volunteer helpers accompany the children one-on-one, along with doctors, nurses and group chaplains.

Our six days spent in Lourdes are extremely special. The time of year we travel is Children’s week. The whole place is packed full of fun, laughter, colour and excitement. The trip allows the children to explore or discover their faith, form new friendships and open their hearts and minds to new experiences. Each year the DDCP must raise enough money to pay for over 25 children to travel to Lourdes. Next weekend there will be helpers collecting money after each Mass on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th of March. Anything you can spare is hugely appreciated. It cannot be underestimated how significant this trip can be in the children’s lives. Thank you for your support.
