On Thursday lunchtime all the boys and girls from 3rd Class in Scoil San Treasa were invited, along with their Grandparents, to attend a special Grandparent’s Day Mass.

Much preparation went in in advance of the actual day. The third class teachers worked with the children to prepare written pieces of work about their Grandparents which were on display in the back of the Church.

Fr Tony said Mass celebrating our Grandparents who were present with us in the Church and also remembering those who we miss and are no longer with us. The boys and girls from the different classes read, said prayers, brought the gifts to the altar and everyone joined in singing a song at both the beginning and at the end of Mass.

A word of thanks to Caroline Kehoe who organised the tea and coffee afterwards for everyone and to the parent volunteers for serving it. Thanks too to the teaching staff who helped with the smooth running of the occasion.
