Dear Parishioners

Following a number of invitations (by Fr Joe) for parishioners to come forward to form a new Mount Merrion Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) during the Summer and Autumn, we are now delighted to confirm that a new core Parish Pastoral Council has been formed for the term 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2025. Each member of the new PPC has been elected in accordance with the terms of the 2014 Mount Merrion PPC Constitution and will be formally commissioned upon Fr Joe’s return in a few months’ time. The members of the new PPC are: Clodagh O’Reilly (Chairperson), Florence Conroy (Vice Chair), Mary O’Shea (Secretary), Padraig Staunton, Fr Joe Mullan, John Barry, Martina McNamara and Audrey O’Sullivan. If upon reading this notice you feel you too would like to serve on the PPC, we would be interested in hearing from you so please get in touch for a discussion as we plan to expand the core PPC over the coming months. You can get in touch through the Parish Office (via Vivienne Dempsey).

The Synodal Pathway (2021-2024) connects us all directly to sharing our experience of the global Church. The Building Hope Diocesan Renewal project connects directly to changes and challenges to be addressed in our own diocese, parish, and partnership parishes. The new PPC will aim to contribute to and enrich the Building Hope developments by prioritising a listening (Synodal) ethos in parish life.

We thank all the members of the previous PPC for their dedicated service to the Parish and we welcome the new PPC and wish them well as they lead the parish over the coming year and beyond.

Fr Joe and Audrey O’Sullivan (former Chairperson 2017 – 2022)
